For today’s blog, I got to make another One-Line Artwork, but this time I did it using Google drawing.
I was able to be creative with the colouring this time.
Which drawing did you like? I liked this one because it was a lot more fun and easier than the freehand one-line drawing.

These are some of my favourite activities because I enjoy being creative. Firstly I had to watch a couple of videos explaining easy line drawings. I then got to have fun and draw my own one-line drawing.
I chose to draw this line because it’s a self portrait of myself, and the reason I chose these colors was pink is my favourite colour and I wear pink hair ties most days. I couldn’t find a black colouring pencil so I used a normal pencil to colour my hair.
Hope you enjoyed my self portrait. I look forward to trying some more of these drawings, even though it was a little hard. I think with some more practice I will get better.

Continuing the design from my previous post, I now get to design my Summer house using Tinkercad.
I found this activity hard because I haven’t used Tinkercad much. So I found it a bit tricky making some of the key features.

Have you ever thought about designing your own Summer house? That is what I get to do today in this activity. I had to think about the things I wanted in my house. Once I had my ideas I got to put them into a drawing and label the key parts.

For today’s activity it was very very exciting so what I had to do was do a trick shot from one of the four videos I had to watch. My mum filmed me practicing my trick shot. I had to think about each next shot, to how I could do it slightly differently to try and get it. I learnt I was a little too close and had to step back a little. I kept going until I finally got it.

What an exciting blog I have for you today. Firstly I had to listen to a song about a road trip around NZ. It was very catchy. Especially the part where they sang about the world’s longest town name which is here in NZ. I have trouble remembering it. Today’s activities were very exciting. I had to look at some examples of recreated portraits, watch a video about a challenge during lockdown, then choose a famous portrait to recreate myself. I got to dress up in my mum’s clothes and use things around the house to help recreate the portrait. For example I used a tablecloth to hide our bookcase and look like a curtain. I used tissues for the cuffs of the dress and a small blanket for the headpiece.

This painting is called Arrangement In Gray And Black No. 1. The artist James McNeill Whistler painted this portrait of his mother in 1871 while he was living with her.

Welcome back to my blog. Today’s activity firstly had me watch a few more videos about the Makefu celebrations. Then I had to ask my whanau about how they think celebrations connect us to our culture. From their answers I had to choose one to create a poster about.

Kia ora and for today’s summer learning journey activity I had to watch a video about the Makefu village of Niue celebration day in Northland. After I read about Niueans in Northland, New Zealand I took notice of all the types of activities that are part of their celebration days. I made a google drawing while my mum was sending me photos of a celebration that we went to. once she had sent me the photos I had to make a collage with the photos she had sent me.

Ahurei is a day-long gathering of our whanau kapa haka from each of the Marae in our tribe Rongomaiwhaine. I see that our celebrations are the same as the Northland Niuean celebrations. We celebrate with kai (food), arts and stalls, waiata (song) and kapa haka. There are lots of korero (talking) and whanaungatanga (connections and relationships) with whanau (family) & friends. I found it interesting that other cultures have almost the same celebrations that we do.
I would love to read some comments of other celebrations that you may enjoy.
