Summer Learning Journey – Let’s Get Funky – Activity 2

What an exciting afternoon I’ve had.  First I learnt how to create a song.  You can check this out on my previous post here then for this activity I learnt how to create a video using scratch. I had to design a pattern first then a background.  Using code I added some special effects.

Check out my video:

These 2 activities were so much fun and I learnt two new skills.  I look forward to using these again.

Summer Learning Journey – Let’s Get Funky – Activity 1

Hello, how are you enjoying my Summer Learning Journey? I am having lots of fun and learning heaps of new things.

Today’s activity involves me making my own song using Sumotones. This was so much fun.  I used Sumotones for the first time and had to choose 3 instruments to create my song with.  I chose drums, acoustic guitar and a round synth bass keyboard.

Then under each instrument there was prerecorded segments.  I then played around and chose the ones I thought sounded good together and made this song. Have a listen.

Have you used Sumotunes before?

See you next time.

Summer Learning Journey – Art for Arts Sake – Activity 2

Back for some more silhouette art work.  This time I have to create an art piece using one of the previous silhouettes and duplicating, flipping and using different colours and patterns.

I had lots of fun playing around with this creation.

See you on the next blog.

Summer Learning Journey – Art for Arts Sake – Activity 1

Welcome back to my blog.  For this post I had to learn about silhouette drawings.  Using google draw I had to take a photo of a family member with their side profile and draw around it and fill it in black.  Here is my attempt. Siluets were highly popular between 1790 and 1840.

Summer Learning Journey – One-line Artwork – Activity 2

For today’s blog, I got to make another One-Line Artwork, but this time I did it using Google drawing.

I was able to be creative with the colouring this time.

Which drawing did you like? I liked this one because it was a lot more fun and easier than the freehand one-line drawing.

Blog you next time.

Summer Learning Journey – One-Line Artwork – Activity 1

These are some of my favourite activities because I enjoy being creative.  Firstly I had to watch a couple of videos explaining easy line drawings.  I then got to have fun and draw  my own one-line drawing.

I chose to draw this line because it’s a self portrait of myself, and the reason I chose these colors was pink is my favourite colour and I wear pink hair ties most days.  I couldn’t find a black colouring pencil so I used a normal pencil to colour my hair.

Hope you enjoyed my self portrait.  I look forward to trying some more of these drawings, even though it was a little hard.  I think with some more practice I will get better.

Blog you next time.

Summer Learning Journey – Recreating Portraits – Activity 1 & 2

Today’s activities were very exciting.  I had to look at some examples of recreated portraits, watch a video about a challenge during lockdown, then choose a famous portrait to recreate myself. I got to dress up in my mum’s clothes and use things around the house to help recreate the portrait.  For example I used a tablecloth to hide our bookcase and look like a curtain.  I used tissues for the cuffs of the dress and a small blanket for the headpiece.

Here is my recreation

This painting is called Arrangement In Gray And Black No. 1.  The artist James McNeill Whistler painted this portrait of his mother in 1871 while he was living with her.

How well do you think my recreation was?

For the second part of this activity I had to give my reasons why I think this challenge was such a success, especially during a lockdown. Check out my video below for my answer.

Summer Learning Journey – Paint with music – Activity 2

Kia ora welcome to my second activity for the paint with music but this time I had to make music with paint. First before that I had to watch a youtube video about using artificial intelligence to see what the artist might have heard when painting. Once I had finished watching the video I had to try it myself and it was a bit hard to get the beat right but thanks to my mum .she helped me a bit to do my best on my beat.

Here is a photo of what it looks like

Check out my painted music

See you on my next adventure

Summer learning journey – Paint with music – activity 1

Kia ora I’m Leeya and for today’s summer learning journey activity I had to paint with music but before I tell you what it is I will tell you what I had to do before I painted with music. So first I had to watch a video about a girl that paints with music which is where you listen to a song and you feel the colours then make art with those colours. Then I got to try it myself. It took me about 5 mins to make. I used the song called: Message in a bottle. By: Livingston. Here is a photo of my art work.

Summer Learning Journey – Unleash your inner artist Activity 2

Kia ora my name is Leeya and for the second activity for unleash your inner artist, we had to make a manga character. Firstly I had to watch a time lapse video to help me understand how to create my character. Then I had to read the story about manga before creating my own.  It was a bit challenging but my parents helped me understand what I had to do. It took me about 8  minutes to create my manga character.   Here is a picture of my manga character.

Have you ever done something like this?

I wanted to share the fact I learnt The astro boy is a modern version of a manga character,  an astro boy who is a robot that has human capabilities.

I hope you enjoyed see you next time, Bye.
