Summer Learning Journey – Art for Arts Sake – Activity 1

Welcome back to my blog.  For this post I had to learn about silhouette drawings.  Using google draw I had to take a photo of a family member with their side profile and draw around it and fill it in black.  Here is my attempt. Siluets were highly popular between 1790 and 1840.

  1. Hello Leeya!

Wow you have created not one but seven silhouettes, I love how you have included portraits of your family into this activity as well as your pet dogs. Guessing from your silhouettes you are very flexible, I remember when I was younger I would always do the bridge, but as for the splits I could never really completely do it, great job! Can you do the splits up in the air by having one leg on the ground and the other raised up?

Are you going to give the step it up part of this activity a go as well? For the step it up you will need to use one of these silhouettes that you have created and turn it into an artwork piece by duplicated it flipping it to make it abstract using different colours, textures and backgrounds. Looking forward to seeing it!

    Keep it up!
